Impregnation of fabrics is certainly recommended on furniture that is used intensively. Think of sofas, relaxing armchairs and dining room chairs. After all, an accident is just around the corner. Fortunately, in many cases the fabric is also easier to clean if it has been impregnated beforehand. Do not panic! A lot of stains can be cleaned with the right maintenance product and a littlebit of patience. On this page you can read exactly what to do! Basic ruleseach other. There are large spots, small spots, grease spots, spots with colour, spots from medicine use, chalk edges, small scratches and bald spots. Each stain has a different cause and must be treated in a separate way. Dusting Almost any stain becomes 10x harder to clean when the surface is dusty. Dust your furniture regularly and make sure that the surface is dust-free before you start cleaning!Nutrition (leather only) Try to nourish leather every six months with the recommended maintenance lotion. By doing this, you actually ensure that the moisture and fat percentages of the leather are maintained. New stains will be much easier to clean. Moreover, this prevents liquid from being sucked directly into the leather.Liquids Remove liquid as soon as possible, and try to dab as little as possible on the stain. For example, take (uncoloured) kitchen paper and use it to absorb the liquid. This is easiest if you keep the tip of the paper in the liquid. Did you spill a lot? Then place the entire paper roll upright in the liquid.Solids (like mustard, mashed potatoes, etc.) Remove stains with solids as much as possible with a (clean) spoon. Make sure to spoon up the solids in one go. General tips∙ Try to resist the temptation to scrub, rub or put pressure on the leather in any way. You have a chance that you will continue to see this permanently. You can't be too careful! ∙ Do not use home, garden and kitchen remedies. This often contains solvents. ∙ Always clean an entire section (such as an entire seat/back surface) and not just the stain. By cleaning 'locally', this stain may actually stand out. ∙ Always work a stain from the outside in and use as little pressure as possible. ∙ Let the foam of the cleaner do the work. Apply the foam to the stain with circular movements and let it soak in briefly (do not let it dry completely). Then wipe off the foam with a slightly damp cloth. Destilled water After you have cleaned a stain, we recommend cleaning the entire section with a slightly damp cloth. Do not (preferably) use tap water. Not all tap water in the Netherlands has the same water hardness. By cleaning with tap water, annoying limescale can be left behind. These are very persistent and sometimes even impossible to remove.Therefore, get 1-2 liters of distilled water at home, this will prevent the formation of limescale.
